Destiny’s Child

An American R&B girl group, one of the most successful and incredibly talented overall groups of all time. They have sold an over 60 million records to date and were the lightning bolt which helped sparked the careers of the current Queen of music Beyoncé. And the supremely talented Kelly Rowland. Destiny’s Child is a group which originated and formed in Houston Texas, though the group has had various line ups through the years the best known and most successful lines has been that of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams.

The group’s third album said to be their most successful and most critically acclaimed, included the hit tracks “Independent Women”, “Survivor” and “Bootylicious”. Back in 2002 the group took a bit of a break and split for a few years, but came back together after two years to records their fourth album. The group has won various awards, and was nominated as Billboard Magazine’s greatest groups of all time, as well as the ninth most successful band of the 2000s.

Disbandment, after their fourth album group member Beyoncé decided she wanted to concentrate on her solo career. Which was one of the most correct moves in history as she has become an incredibly successful solo artist. But the group has reunited on more than one occasion, they have performed together since at venues such as the NBA All Star game, the Stellar Awards and even the Super Bowl.

Since their disbandment Beyoncé has released sixteen albums some of which have gone platinum diamond. Kelly Rowland has released nine albums which have accumulated over 40 million records sales and have gone multi-platinum. Michelle Williams has released a modest 5 albums but they have sold over 35 million copies worldwide. She has also worked as a television personality, and worked in various made for television films.
