The Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie Smalls, or just Biggie was born Christopher George Latore Wallace. He originally joined Uptown records, but then made the move to Bad Boy Records founded by industry mogul and his close friend Puff Daddy/Sean Combs.
It is very hard to assess how good he would have been its absolutely scary this guy was a lyrical genius and had such command of the mic and the crowd that it is baffling. Unfortunately for him and for the world, we were deprived such a great singer by dumb mistakes which plague our society. Primarily gang violence, retaliation hits, and street credit.
This was something which plagued the Rap and Hip Hop scene back in the 1990s and has since been cleaned up as people are starting to realize they are worth more alive then they are dead.
Biggie Smalls was a rapper who had his biggest war of words or beef with the West Coast prodigy and his former friend Tupac Shakur. It is said Biggie was killed in retaliation to Tupac being killed several months earlier. His albums has continued to go multi platinum even after his death. The sad fact of the matter is this, both Tupac and Biggie were far ahead of their time, they are widely regarded as the two greatest rappers ever to live. The have influenced the likes of 50 Cent, Eminem, Rick Ross and Kendrick Lamar.
While recording his second album Small was brought into and dragged into the hectic East Coast- West Coast beef. With most of the fuel being driven by former Death Row President SUge Knight. Knight made Smalls an East Coast based rapper, and Shakur a West Coast based rapper the focal points of this feud. It was absolutely crazy, dozens of people lost their lives because of something all put together by someones words.
