Selena Marie Gomez was born on July 22, 1992. At the age of 22, Selena has already dabbled in acting, singing and being a fashion designer. She started her acting career on the children’s show Barney & Friends and later starred in Disney’s television show Wizards of Waverly Place where she played the leading character Alex Russo until the show ended in 2012. In 2008, she switched from acting to singing and formed a band, Selena Gomez & the Scene which released three albums, Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun Goes Down (2011). The band has mild success with its somewhat poppy tunes.
Selena continued her acting career starring in a number of films including Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), and Hotel Transylvania (2012). In 2013, she extended her acting to more controversial roles including the scandlous film Spring Breakers (2013). She also released her own album, Stars Dance that year. Her solo singing career then took off with the hit song “Come & Get It”. She continued to create further albums including Stars Dance, her greatest hits album For You (2014) and her recently released album Revival (2015). Revival included her hit song “Good for you” featuring rapper ASAP Rocky.
She had a brief relationship with pop superstar Justin Bieber. Their one again off again relationship was tabloid fodder for a few years. Selena continued her successful acting and singing career and ventured into fashion, creating her own clothing line “Dream out loud”. Her line of clothes was featured in K-mart and included bohemian dresses, floral tops, and classic jeans and skirts and other styles and accessories made from recycled or eco-friendly materials. Her fashion style was groomed as “pretty, feminine, and bohemian. She is also the face of the hair product Pantene.
